I came across AR when I met the founder, he told me about all the people AR have been able to help since the organisation started, and I knew I had to be a part of it. The registration process was quick and easy, I was able to start straight away. Since starting as a volunteer, my main roles have been packing the food parcels and distributing the parcels to those in need. AR has consistently shown me that it’s priority is the people, It is shown in the quality of the items handed out, the way people are shown respect and most of all the hardships that are undergone through consistently showing up every week despite the weather conditions. To me, AR represents a safe space, one where people come together and be themselves: from the volunteers to those in need.
