Twice a week we serve free hot food on the streets of Croydon — no referral, no ID, no cost. Here's exactly what happens, so there's nothing to worry about.

What it is
Look for the
black tent.
Every Tuesday and Thursday evening, our branded gazebo goes up on the street and we serve hot meals to anyone who comes — 70 to 100 people a night.
What to expect
How the evening goes
From 6:30pm
The queue starts to form
People begin gathering near the black AR Projects tent. No ticket, no list — just join the end of the line. You'll see our volunteers setting up.
7:00 – 7:20pm
Service begins
Once we're ready, we start serving. Two team leaders run every session, with volunteers plating up hot food fresh on the night.
At the table
You collect your food
A hot meal, drinks and snacks — plus a surplus food parcel to take home while they last. It's a takeaway service: you're handed your food to go.
That's it
No forms, no follow-up
Come as often as you need. Nobody records who you are or asks you to prove anything. Everyone in that line is treated the same.
Who runs it
Two leaders.
A crew of volunteers.
Every session is led by two team leaders, with a team of volunteers who prep, cook and serve everything you're given. People with lived experience, giving a few hours a week.
Who can come? Anyone.
If you're hungry, this is for you. There's no test to pass and nothing to prove.
